Helena Christensen was born on 25 December 1968 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was born to a Danish father and a Peruvian mother. In her childhood days she was very fond of music and waned to pursue this as her career but fate had something else in store for her. 

She was selected as Miss Denmark in the year 1968 ands then she appeared for Miss Universe Paegent. It was after this line of success that she went to paris to pursue modelling as her career. She shot for Elle Magazine and then for Vogue. 

Helena is by far the most wanted and the recognized supermodel of the day. This success can be attributed to her charming looks. She had been defined as the most beautiful body by the fashion designer Gianni Versace. 

It is because of her success and demand that she is quite choosy about the kind of work she decides to do. She appears regularly in eveyone's favorite lingere company's catalogs, as well as in televised ad campaigns, alongside other Victoria's Secret models like Yasmeen Ghauri.


One of Helena's career highlights interestingly occurred outside of the normal modeling world. She was cast in 1991 for the video Wicked Game, Chris Isaac's single. The haunting song tells the tale of love gone bad. The video was shot on the dark sands and surf of Hawaii. Though she naturally was given no speaking lines, Helena plays the woman who wrongs Isaak. In the video she frolics along the beach, while Isaak croons about their love affair nearby.

Helena removes her bikini top in the water, and starts tantalizing him. The two embrace and proceed to roll around in the sand together. The song fades to a mellow ending, as she gets up and runs off into the distance. Wicked Game is still regularly aired on music channels, and was recently selected as the Sexiest Video of All-Time by MTV. 

On a personal note Helena was forst associated with rocker Michael Hutchence. They soon went apart int heir own lines. Helena was later linked with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and singer Billy Corgan. she dated writer/photographer Peter Makebisch.

Some of her other interests apart from modelling is painting, photography etc.
