Fame came to heidi Klum by chance and fate. Heidi Klum is the well established supermodel. She was born on January 1, 1973 in Bergische Gladbach, Germany. Her parents were Gunther, who worked for a cosmetics company, while her mother, Erna was a hairdresser. 

It was a lazy afternoon when Heidi along with her friends saw a coupon in the magazine for a competition called "Model '92". Her friend encouraged her to send in some photos, and Heidi then traveled to Munich to compete on TV. She was intrigued by the idea, and she never even dreamed of the possibility of winning. The people of the petrol catalog were the first to hire her. Heidi Klum worked a lot for them. From Hamburg she went to Paris and Milan. Then the work came over seas. She hit big time with the Victoria's Secret campaign.

Once Heidi joined the super model agency Elite, the school girl instantly became an international model. Heidi Klums face recruits cosmetics, telephones, cloths for brides and the new age. She is seen in TV advertisements, video tie-clips and magazines. She appeared in many print advertisements, including: Bonne Bell, Finesse, Gerry Weber, Givenchy's Amerige, I-N-C, and hit it big with the Victoria's Secret advertising campaign. As one of the Victoria's Secret Angels, Heidi made the transition from model to supermodel, joining the ranks of Yasmeen Ghauri, Tyra Banks, Helena Christensen, and Stephanie Seymour

Heidi Klum inspired an expert cologne manufacturer with her idea because she found to her dissatisfaction to no perfume suited her personality. She created a company in her hometown Bergisch Gladbach, co-developed the product logo herself and used her name as the label. Finally the creation was finished: Heidi Klum- an Eau de Toilette

After winning the the cover spot on the Sport Illustrated Swimsuit magazine, Heidi's goddess like looks would rocket her into super stardom. Her notoriety would win her appearances on popular American talk shows such as David Letterman, and on the cover of a multitude of American magazines. Her appearance on the ABC sitcom Spin City proves that Heidi can not only model, but act as well. She even made a cameo appearance in Sex and the City, sharing the runway with Sarah Jessica Parker.

Heidi continues to model and pursue the possible acting career. Known for her down to earth personality and her sense of humor, Heidi is married to hairstylist Ric Pipino. 

Heidi married celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino in 1997. The couple announced their separation in November 2002.
