Kate Bosworth was born on January 2, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She was called as Catherine Anne Bosworth at her birth. Her childhood days has been days of shifting from one place to anoither. When she was just 6 she moved to San Francisco with her parents and then at an age of 9 she moved to Connecticut. Finally at 14 she moved to Cohasset, Mass.
It was at this age of 14 when she started her career in the glamour world. She got her first break in WB's "Young Americans". It was in the year 1998 when she got her first acting role in the romantic drama playing Judith, the ill-fated best friend of the scarred young girl (Scarlet Johansson) who brings together her mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) and the titular hero (Robert Redford).
However she soon returned back to her normal teen life attending the high school. She also continued practising athletic games in which she was very good. In 2000 she was featured as the bratty sister of the protagonist in the independent children's film "The Newcomers". Then she made her TV debut as a well-adjusted small town girl of unknown parentage working at a gas station near an elite prep school on "Young Americans". She did an excellent job in the film by posing as a pity girl falling in love with Scout (Mark Famiglietti), a Rawley Academy student and senator's son who just may be her half-brother. She also featured in "Remember the Titans" starring Denzel Washington as a football coach.
With its MTV-style visuals of the Hawaiian surf circuit Bosworth once again imoressed lot number of audiences with her fantastic performance in "Blue Crush". She also appeared in the ensemble cast of writer-director Roger Avary's edgy film adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis' potboiler "The Rules of Attraction". The film explored the darker side of college life, with Kate portraying a strung-out party girl.
Apart from being a successful actress she also plays soccer and lacrosse. |
