Karen Mulder was born on July 1, 1970 in
Vlaardingen, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Her father worked a sa civil servant and mother worked as a secretary. Hew childhood days were spent in the village of
Voorburg. Right from the teenage days Karen was very much fascinated towards the fashion world.
Karens career in the modelling business started when she won a modeling contest in 1987 in Amsterdam. this made her a finalist in Elite's Look Of The Year worldwide competition. In order to pursue a career in modelling Karen left high school and went to Italy with her mother. From here she went to Paris to take modelling lessons. Here the Elite modelling agency too over her career.
Success soon followed for Karen. She came in limelight with Valentino,
YSL, Lanvin, Versace, and Armani. She graced the cover of cover of Vogue Italia and was also selected to be the next model for Guess?. By now Karen added some of the most impressive names to her portfolio. Major amongst them were Guess?, Calvin Klein, Claude Montana, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent fashion and Rive Gauche fragrance, as well as
Guerlain, Chloé, Valentino, Revlon, Jacques Fath, Gianfranco Ferré, and Hervé
Léger.
Karen Mulder is a name to reckon with in the fashion world. Any and every sphere of the modelling world has been touched by her. Ona personal note she says that the most happiest day of her life was when she met his dream man - real-estate developer Jean Yves.
